Eskom to roll out stage 4 load shedding on Friday
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Eskom will continue with stage 4 load shedding from Friday morning after it was able to replenish some of its emergency reserves.
But the power utility will revert to stage 6 load shedding during the afternoon peak hours.
Eskom spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha says stage 6 power cuts will continue from 4pm on Friday.
"Stage 6 load shedding will be implemented from 16:00 to 22:00 so as not to deplete these reserves any further. Stage 4 is currently being implemented until 16:00."

South Africans have been subjected to frequent power cuts throughout the week due to a lack of generation capacity.
It also saw the struggling power utility implement stage 6 load shedding for the first time in more than two years.
Eskom has blamed the latest crisis on an illegal strike by workers affiliated to trade unions, the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) and National Union of Metalworkers South Africa (Numsa).
The power utility and unions will return to the negotiating table on Friday.
