Eskom: Stages 4 and 6 load shedding this week
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
Embattled power utility Eskom will vary between stages 4 and 6 during the course of the week.
The power utility announced on Sunday that stage 4 will be implemented from 5am on Monday, while stage 6 is to be implemented from 4pm daily until further notice.
This pattern of stage 4 load shedding from 5am until 6pm and stage 6 load shedding from 4pm to 5am will be repeated daily until further notice.
“During the last 24 hours, a generating unit at Kriel Power Station has returned to service, two other generation units at Kriel and a unit at Matla power stations were taken out of service due to breakdowns,” says interim Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokwena.
“In addition, the delay in returning units to service at Arnot, Camden, Kendal and two units each at Hendrina and Tutuka power stations continue to add to the current capacity constraints.”
