Eskom warns: 'system very constrained'

Eskom advised customers to check their load shedding schedules.

Eskom has warned consumers that the electricity supply system is "very constrained'.
On Tuesday, Eskom said on social media that the probability of load shedding was low, but this assurance was not given to the public on Wednesday.
In a statement, Eskom says unplanned breakdowns are adding to the strain on the grid and "while some generation units have returned from planned and unplanned maintenance, they are not sufficient to meet the current demand."
It says it has been forced to use its water and diesel reserves and "a concerted effort is being made to replenish those reserves."
Eskom advised customers to check their load shedding schedules.
