Eskom on Sunday announced the suspension of daytime load shedding until further notice.
The embattled power utility said this is due to improved generation capacity and sufficient emergency reserves for the week ahead.
The announcement came shortly after Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa announced that six units from various power station are set to return to service on Wednesday and Thursday.
Ramokgopa provided an update on the power grid in Tshwane on Sunday in Pretoria.
Stage 2 loadshedding will be implemented from 4pm on Sunday until 5am on Monday.
Thereafter, load shedding will be suspended from 5am until 4pm on Monday.
Stage 2 loadshedding will then resume from 4pm on Monday until 5am on Tuesday
“This pattern of suspending loadshedding during the day and implementing stage 2 load shedding during the evening peak will be repeated daily until further notice. Eskom will communicate should any significant changes occur,” said Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokwena.
