Following a tip-off, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) has arrested more than 10 suspects for dealing with counterfeit goods at a warehouse in Springs.
According to Ekurhuleni MMC for community safety, Frans Mmoko, a significant amount of expired goods that were allegedly being repacked to be sold to the public was also seized.
Specifically, expired sweets and chocolates were being repackaged to most likely be sold through spaza shops.

"You can imagine what our people are exposed to in terms of them consuming this stuff," said Mmoko.
Momoko said on Saturday law enforcement authorities were still processing the property but that the seized goods were estimated to be worth at least R2 million.
Among the law enforcement agencies involved counted the SAPS and SARS.
Police were still following up on leads indicating that some of the goods confiscated might have come from hijacked trucks, according to Mmoko.
