Professor Michael Herbst of the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) says testicular cancer, which De Klerk is raising awareness of, is one of the most treatable cancers.
"It involves many young men, which makes it a little bit more serious, because the consequences of not picking it up early enough is losing one's testicles...and losing the ability to procreate a family afterwards," explains Herbst.
