Family of five killed in Meyerton house fire

A family of five, including three children, has been killed in a blaze at their home in Meyerton.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring says paramedics were called to the scene to find the fire services already battling the blaze.
"Three patients were retrieved from within the house while it was still alight, a further two were found after the fire had been extinguished.”

Meiring says the family, including a 6-month-old baby, succumbed to numerous injuries.
"Nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead.
"The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations."
