Horrific videos depict the frenzy of violence in which he allegedly ended up beating his sangoma trainer to death with the butt of a rifle.

The first video, filmed at 4.54 am on Saturday, shows Joubert in a Springbok jersey, his face shiny with sweat, taking viewers through his farmhouse as he rants about being "the chosen one".

As he shouts, "Amandla! Viva!", he focuses the camera on to Hoyana, who sits with his head bowed in a chair.

"Everyone thinks I am mal (crazy), but I want to show the world to know how Satan (points at Hoyana) sits there."

In another video Jobert is seen calling on Hoyana's wife to "kom kyk" (come look) as he bludgeons Hoyana, who is on the ground, repeatedly with his rifle.

Joubert can be heard swearing and seen showing the middle finger while Hoyana screams hysterically in the background and calling out, "Anele!".

Police spokesperson Thembinkosi Kenana says Hoyana and Joubert got into an argument which turned physical.

Joubert was apparently shot and killed by a police officer in self-defence, with the case under investigation by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid).

"On Saturday morning we had an incident where two people died from shooting. However, the details of the circumstances surrounding the incidents are being investigated by the IPID.

"From the information that we heard is that the incident emanated from an argument that happened between those involved in the incident which ended up having the two being fatally wounded."
