Five killed in horror Mahikeng crash
Five people were killed in a crash involving two cars in Mahikeng in North West in the early hours of Monday morning.
The two cars crashed on the Riviera Park bridge next to the rugby stadium.
North West Department of Transport spokesperson Oshebeng Keonyaditse said both vehicles were travelling towards Mahikeng CBD at the time of the crash.
"It appears one vehicle was overtaking the other when bumping on its driver’s side. Three people were declared deceased at the scene of the accident, whilst the other two passed on at the hospital.
"The deceased include one of the drivers and the other two are hospitalised with serious injuries," he said.
A case of culpable homicide is being investigated.
