Five killed in Mopani car crash
Five people have been killed in a car crash involving a Hyundai Sedan in the Mopani district on Saturday morning.
The accident happened on the R81 road near Mooketsi in the Mopani district.
The Limpopo Transport and Community Safety spokesperson Mike Maringa says the driver lost control and hit a tree.
“It is alleged that the driver of a Hyundai Sedan lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree. The driver and four passengers were certified dead on the scene. Preliminary investigations are citing speed as a possible cause of the accident.”
Maringa has urged motorists to obey road rules amid concerns over the high number of deaths reported during weekends in Limpopo.
