Floods in NWest claim three lives

Three deaths have thus far been reported in the seven North West municipalities.

Ratlou, Kagisano-Molopo, Greater Taung, Ramotshere Moiloa, Mahikeng, Moses Kotane, Rustenburg, Maquassi Hills, and the Matlosana municipalities have been worst-hit by the flooding.
According to spokesperson in the Premier's Office, Brian Setswambung, a primary school boy drowned when he attempted to cross a stream in Leporung near the Botswana border, and two people died in Phokeng near Rustenburg when their car was swept away.

Provincial government officials are being sent to assess the damage caused.
"The provincial government continues to monitor the situation to ensure that we become proactive and alert against possible reoccurrences of such nature" says Setswambung.
