Former KZN mayor shot and killed
Former Ndwedwe Local Municipality mayor in KwaZulu-Natal was shot and killed on Thursday evening.
Provincial police spokesperson Thembheka Mbele says 50-year-old Maxwell Hadebe was at his business when he was approached by an unknown suspect, who subsequently opened fire.

"We are informed that the victim in his tavern in the area when he was approached by an unknown suspect who fired several gunshots and the fled the scene"
Mbhele says the motive of the shooting is not yet known.
