Former president Zuma has a lot of knowledge, says Ramaphosa

President Cyril Ramaphosa says his predecessor Jacob Zuma will be given “a lot of tasks” in the ANC .

He was addressing ANC members at a 107th birthday celebration rally in KwaZulu-Natal.
Ramaphosa, together with other senior party leaders, are participating in door-to-door campaigns and other programs ahead of the launch of the party’s elections manifesto on Saturday.
Zuma was seated alongside Zuma on Tuesday, with the two leaders seen laughing and joking with one another.
“He is the former president that I am going to use as the president of the ANC for many tasks. You see former presidents are given tasks because they have a lot of knowledge and experience and know the history of the organisation. I am one of the luckiest presidents of the ANC because I have two former presidents that are still alive, Zuma and Mbeki, and I have another one Kgalema Motlanthe, who I go to whenever I need anything,” said Ramaphosa.

He said Zuma is working with him in order to renew the ANC, a project Ramaphosa embarked on when he was elected ANC president in 2017.
Ramaphosa said the unifying the ANC will be a catalyst for winning this year’s elections.
“The ANC is going to the next election not only to get a mere percentage above 50, but we also want an overwhelming victory. We know that in order for us to get this victory we will rely on many of you here who are volunteers.”
