Former Bafana Bafana coach Stanley ‘Screamer’ Tshabalala recovering in hospital after being shot

Former Bafana Bafana football coach Stanley Tshabalala has been shot and wounded during a burglary at his home in Centurion.

The incident occurred on Wednesday.
Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo said Tshabalala, and his family were attacked just after midday.
"It is reported that three suspects, armed with a firearm and a sharp object, stormed into the victims' house and held him and his family at gunpoint”.
"The suspects then shot Tshabalala and took a laptop and cell phones from the house” said Masondo.
Police have since opened a case of house robbery and attempted murder for investigation.
The Tshabalala family has since thanked the public for their messages of support and are requesting privacy during this time.
Tshabalala was the first Bafana Bafana head coach when South Africa was readmitted into international soccer in 1992. He also served as Mamelodi Sundowns coach and has gone on to occupy various prominent positions within Orlando Pirates since 2008.
