Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of a medical doctor in Dobsonville.

The doctor was shot and killed during a robbery at his surgery in Soweto in February.
"Three suspects entered the surgery, claiming that one of them was not feeling well. As soon as all of them went into the consulting room, witnesses heard gunshots and the three fled the scene in a vehicle they stole from the scene," said police spokesperson Brenda Muridili.
"The doctor was rushed to a local clinic with gunshot wounds. He died at the clinic."
The pair was arrested in Alexandra on Thursday.
Muridili said two unlicenced firearms were seized, as well as some of the victim’s belongings.
"The duo allege that the third suspect was shot by the doctor during the robbery and that he died in the car when they were fleeing the scene. They further allege that they dumped his body and informed his family where to find him then they burned the stolen car."
The suspects will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of murder and robbery.
