Four killed, five injured in horror crash in Mopani
Limpopo Transport authorities say four people have been killed following a collision along the R71 next to Mopani on Saturday.
The jaws-of-life had to be used to free the deceased from their vehicle.
A light motor vehicle was found parked on the side of the road while a SUV was found in the middle of the road following the collision near Tzaneen.
The driver and two passengers (including a child( have been taken to hospital with serious injuries along with a number of other people according to provincial Transport spokesperson, Matome Tauyatswala.
He says several cases of culpable homicide have been opened.
“We suspect at this point in time that the cause of the accident would be negligent driving and not observing the rules of the road. There is a sharp curve on the road and you are not allowed to overtake,” said Tauyatswala.
