Four Moti brothers safely reunited with their family

The Police have confirmed that the four Moti brothers who were abducted while on their way to school in Polokwane, have been found alive and well.

The children were reunited with their family on Wednesday evening, exactly three weeks after they were taken.


Zidan, Zayyad, Alaan, and Zia Moti – aged between 7 and 15 were abducted at gunpoint on 20 October.


 A group of men with rifles and handguns cornered their vehicle at around 07 am in the morning and forcefully removed them.


National police spokesperson Vish Naidoo says the brothers were dropped off on a deserted road in Limpopo.


“Last night (Wednesday) the police in Vuwani received a call from a local resident saying that the children arrived at their house saying they were dropped off on a nearby road.


Police arranged a doctor who confirmed that the children are in good health before they were handed over to their parents. The children also appeared to be in high spirits during the reunion with their parents,” says Naidoo.


He says the children have not yet been interviewed but investigators will arrange for the SAPS psychologists to assist.


“The investigation into the case of kidnapping is still continuing and we are appealing to anyone who can assist with information that will help bring the kidnappers to book are asked to please contact the police.”
