Four patients die in Nkandla accident

The bus was carrying patients on Thursday night from Ngwelezane Hospital to Ekombe Hospital and Nkandla Hospital.

 

"The only thing we know was that the weather was bad that night... it was raining," Dhlomo said.

 

"Three died at the scene of the accident. One died later at the hospital."

 

According to the provincial health department, six other patients were also critically injured, 10 sustained serious injuries and 40 sustained minor injuries.

Dhlomo and KZN health department head Sibongile Zungu expressed their condolences to the families and friends of the four female patients.

The women's names would be announced once their next of kin had been informed.
