Updated | By MornéJK
Limpopo traffic officials confirmed that fourteen people died in an accident outside Mokopane earlier on Wednesday morning.
According to Limpopo Roads and Traffic spokesperson Kagiso Mootane all the deceased were foreign nationals from Zimbabwe.
"The driver of the truck involved in the accident was not injured," Mootane told Jacaranda FM News.
Traffic authorities said that a truck and a bakkie collided in the head-on collision on the R101 while an 8-month-old infant was among the deceased.
"The driver of the bakkie swerved into on-coming traffic and collided head-on with the truck, whereafter it overturned."
Motorists have been urged to take care on the roads as heavy rainfalls were reported across the northern parts of South Africa on Wednesday morning.
