Friends, family gather for Karabo Mokoena memorial

The memorial service of Karabo Mokoena, whose brutal murder made national headlines, is being held in Diepkloof.

The 22-year-old's burnt body was found in a veld in Lyndhurst, north-east of Johannesburg last month.
Family and friends gathered their respects.

Mokoena's boyfriend, Sandile Mantsoe, has been charged with her murder and is expected back in court next week.
The discovery of Mokoena's body has sparked widespread outrage, with the hashtag #MenAreTrash trending on social media.
