From tomorrow morning, the inland price of a liter of 93 unleaded petrol will increase by 43 cents, to R12.79 per litre with 95 octane that will increase to R13.05 cents a litre.

The diesel price will spike by 63 cents to between R11.36 and R11.39 cents a litre.

According to Efficient Group economist, Francois Stoffberg the increases are mainly a result of the higher oil price coupled with the weak rand in recent months.

"We saw a substantial increase in the international oil price - currently the oil price is down a bit, which will help us out next month," Stoffberg said.

He added that if the rand continues at its current levels we might see some relief when it comes to fuel prices.

"The international price of oil has also decreased in recent weeks which will have a positive impact on fuel prices and it could bring some much-needed relief to motorists," he said.
