Gauteng finishes vaccine allocation, receives additional 3000 doses

Gauteng Premier David Makhura paid another visit to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto on Friday.
Makhura visited the hospital to assess the progress being made in the campaign to inoculate frontline healthcare workers.
Gauteng has ao far received some 16 000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
The province is aiming to vaccine close to 200 000 healthcare workers.
"I'm very happy that in less than 14 days, all the 16 800 doses allocated for the two hospitals, Steve Biko Hospital and Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, will be finished today," said Makhura.
Makhura said the province has also been allocated an additional 3000 doses.
"This week, we have set the bases - we have drawn lessons when it comes to the big vaccine rollout."
