Gauteng govt to inject over R3m in NSA
Updated | By Neo Motloung
The National School of the Arts is set to receive additional funding from the Gauteng Department of Education.
This comes after the school released a statement detailing the dire financial situation the institution finds itself in due to Covid-19.
Department spokesperson Steve Mabona says the school would receive additional funding above R3 million on top of the R1.4 million that has been allocated to the institution.
"Which will be coming to them probably the end of August the latest, we are still finalising our international administration processes.”
Mabona has asked that parents who are able pay the school fees do so in order to keep the institution running.
He says the department is aware that some parents are unable to pay due to their income being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
