Gauteng learner placements to start in August
Parents of Grade 1 and 8 learners in Gauteng will know in August in which schools their children have been placed.
The Gauteng Department of Education says school placements will start on August 3.
The placements are for the application period 16 April to 28 May.
"All parents will receive an SMS advising them on the outcome of their applications," says the department’s spokesperson Steve Mabona.

The GDE received a total of 569 302 applications and plans to place all learners by the end of October.
It has also urged parents to exercise some patience as more time is required to finalise waiting lists with the schools and districts.
