Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana is expected to table his first Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement on 4 November.
Godongwana is set to table the so-called mini-budget on the Thursday at 2pm in the National Assembly.
He will set out the policy framework for the February budget that was tabled by former finance minister Tito Mboweni.
He is also expected to give Treasury's economic forecast and adjust the budgets of each government department.
"The MTBPS makes it possible for Parliament and the public to interact with the government's budget through committee oversight over government departments when committees review the effective and efficient use of available resources," Parliament said in a statement.
“The process is known as the Budget Review and Recommendations Reports, which must be tabled in the National Assembly before the MTBPS reports are adopted.”
