Gordhan: Mkhwebane continues to get the facts and the law wrong
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan has accused Public Protector Busiswe Mkhwebane of bias, saying that he has serious misgivings about her conduct.
Mkhwebane released another damning report into Gordhan's conduct during his tenure as South African Revenue Service (Sars) commissioner and found him guilty of violating the executive ethics code by not disclosing to Parliament that he met with Ajay Gupta.
Gordhan's spokesperson Adrian Lackay says they were not furnished with the report before Mkhwebane's media briefing on Friday. However, upon receipt he ordered his lawyers to start a review process.

"With respect to Minister Gordhan and his tenure as Sars commissioner, t is apparent that the public protector continues to get the facts wrong, get the law wrong and is demonstrably biased," says Lackay.
Former Sars deputy commissioner Ivan Pillay, who Mkhwebane found to have been appointed irregularly, has denied all the findings and has instructed his lawyers to take legal action.
