Deputy Finance Minister David Masondo says that the government doesn’t yet have an answer to the issue of e-tolls.
Masondo was speaking at a function of the ANC’s Progressive Business Forum on Monday.
The meeting discussed last week’s budget speech.
“On the e-tolls, don’t ask me about it. I don’t have an answer for now, the government does not have an answer, but we are working on it.”
Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana’s maiden budget speech received praise from the financial sector as being “investor friendly”.

However, the budget did not expand much about the country’s unemployment crisis and ways to address the 40% unemployment rate among young people.
The job's crisis has since compelled the government to extend the R350 social distress grant to millions of South Africans that have been hardest hit by the effects of Covid-19.
During his budget speech, Godongwana announced that the grant would be further extended with R44 billion allocated for the unemployed.
This would ensure that at least 10 million South Africans benefit from the social grants for twelve more months
