Grade 1 teacher named as one of the Vlakfontein victims

The Gauteng Education Department is mourning the death of a teacher, who was one of the seven family members found dead in a house in Vlakfontein.

The bodies of three women and four children were found buried in sand at the house on the West Rand on Monday.
The department’s spokesperson Steve Mabona says the 28-year-old teacher taught grade 1.
“The educator taught Grade 1 at Reamohetsoe Primary in Orange Farm. Amongst the deceased was the educator’s daughter, an 11-year-old Grade 5 learner, the educator’s younger sister who is an 8-year-old Grade 2 learner and from the same school.”
Mabona says a psychosocial team has been dispatched to the school to provide necessary counseling.

One suspect is in police custody and is believed to have been a partner of one of the women were was killed.
A manhunt has been launched for another man, who goes by the name of Sibusiso Ernst Khoza.
He is believed to be an imposter who masqueraded as someone else to worm his way into the family home.
According to documents found in the house, it appears his real name is Ernst Mabaso who hails from Zimbabwe.
