The Hawks have arrested
four suspects they believe were planning a cash-in-transit heist in
Pretoria.
The four were nabbed in Queenswood on Thursday.
Hawks spokesperson Ndivhuwo Mulamu says the unit and police crime intelligence received information that the gang was planning a heist.
"With the assistance of the SAPS task force members, the team went to the house and as they approached they saw a vehicle parked at the vicinity with three suspects inside,” Malumo says.
"It transpired that the vehicle was stolen and as they were about to execute the arrest, the suspects sped off and a chase ensued.”

The suspects slammed into another vehicle as they attempted to flee. Two of the suspects were shot and wounded while the other two escaped on foot.
The other suspects were arrested later the same evening.
Two of the suspects are in hospital under police guard whilst the other two are in custody.
The suspects are expected to appear at the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Monday facing charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and possession of stolen vehicle.
The arrests come amid a massive spike in cash-in-transit robberies in Gauteng.
