Extremely high fire danger conditions are also expected in the Cape Metropole, Cape Winelands, and West Coast District of the Western Cape while gale force winds of up to 70km/h are expected between Lambert's Bay and Cape Point at first.

"We have an upper air trough that is situated over the western parts of the country and that is causing some significant rainfall with up to 80% chance of showers and thundershowers," Forecaster, Wayne Venter says.

He adds that there is another watch for heavy rain in Gauteng tomorrow, as the tropical air moisture moves from Botswana to South Africa.

"We have another watch out for tomorrow with more than a 100 millimeters of rain that will fall in places," Venter says.
