City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena says they have recorded 2200 outage calls from customers across the city by Monday morning.
"City Power is experiencing high call volumes due to wet weather conditions, compounded by loadshedding, and cable theft and vandalism.
"By this morning we opened up with over 2200 outage calls from customers across the City, with pressure points being in Roodepoort, Randburg, Reuven, and Hursthill.
"We would like to caution our customers to expect some delays in terms of repairs and restorations due to the heavy storms, flooded roads, among others," says Mangena.
He says the higher stages of load shedding are also worsening the situation.
"We apologise to some of the residents who have been off for longer than our turnaround times.
"We have beefed up teams in the problematic areas to ensure that we deal with the backlogs and ensure there are minimal power interruptions in the affected areas."
