Henri van Breda ‘considering his legal options’
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
The lawyer representing convicted triple axe murderer Henri van Breda says they are considering their options following his latest legal setback.

The Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) has denied Van Breda’s application for leave to appeal his conviction and sentence.
A final bid to overturn his conviction and sentence to the Constitutional Court is possible – if constitutional imperatives were raised in the lower courts.

Van Breda’s attorney, Lorinda van Niekerk told Jacaranda FM News on Thursday that they are considering his options and have not decided on a way forward.
Her comments follow the SCA’s decision not to grant Van Breda’s petition to overturn his three life sentences.
The Western Cape High Court found him guilty of axing three family members to death and attempting to murder of his sister at their luxury home at De Zalze in Stellenbosch in 2015.
The provincial National Prosecuting Authority has welcomed the SCA’s decision.
“There was no other way that any other court could come to a different conclusion and that there was no other person that was responsible for that gruesome murders and it was only Henri who was responsible for the death of his family and attempted murder on his sister,” says spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila.
