Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Home Affairs Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi has released the updated list of countries from where leisure travellers will not be allowed into South Africa.

South Africa is gradually re-opening its international borders from Thursday, 1 October, for the first time since the Covid-19 lockdown was implemented at the end of March.
The list of high risk countries was updated late on Wednesday evening.

“Earlier today (Wednesday), a list of high risk countries was read at a press conference. Unfortunately, this list was not exhaustive and might have included some countries by mistake. We are hereby releasing the whole updated list and we heartily apologize for any confusion and any inconvenience caused by the earlier release,” says Motsoaledi in a statement.
All 18 land ports of entry will also be opened effectively.
