One of the three suspects arrested for the murder of Hillary Gardee is expected to return to the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court for a bail application Monday.
The body of Gardee, the daughter of former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) secretary-general and attorney Godrich Gardee, was found near a timber plantation in Mbombela in April.
Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Mpumalanga Monica Nyuswa says the bail hearing of Sipho Mkhatshwa is set to continue on Monday.
“The bail hearing in respect of accused number one, Sipho Mkhatshwa will continue Monday 25 July. The matter was postponed to 22 August for the indictment to be served on the accused.
“The rest of the accused will be back in court on Wednesday. Accused number two and three will apply for bail on 27 July.
“The three suspects told the court they planned to plead not guilty to all the charges against them.”
