Holomisa: State capture hollowing out institutions
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
United Democtatic Movement (UDM) leader Bantu Holomisa says state capture has hollowed out many of the country's institutions.
Holomisa was speaking at the launch of Unthreading Madiba, an exhibition exploring the different aspects of the life of former president Nelson Mandela.
"This is an insult to Madiba's legacy. In the same vein it is difficult to comprehend how some people stooped so low by stealing funds allocated to give Madiba a dignified farewell as the public protector recently found.
"This goes beyond commonplace corruption and is not only immoral, but evil," said Holomisa.

On Monday Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane found that R300 million was misappropriated by the Eastern Cape provincial government for Madiba's funeral in 2013.
Holomisa has called on those implicated in the state capture report to be prosecuted.
Tuesday marked four years since the death of the former president.
The Nelson Mandela Foundation also launched Mandela centenary project to celebrate 100 years since Madiba's birth.
