On Thursday night, police nabbed more than 530 suspects who were on the police's wanted list during various raids.

The suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from murder, attempted murder, rape and hijacking to the possession of unlicensed firearms.
There were also roadblocks, stop-and-search operations, liquor outlet raids and property crime in Pretoria.
At least two taverns were closed down in Sunnyside on Friday night.
"Joint intelligence-driven operations are proving to be a winning formula for tackling crime in the province," says Gauteng police's Mathapelo Peters.
"Criminals are beginning to feel the intensity of these operations by the integrated law enforcement agencies.”
Peters says communities have been helpful in the fight against drugs.
"On Friday, police operationalised information received about suspects selling drugs to university students in Yeoville.
"Three suspects, who live in Melville, were arrested with an unconfirmed amount of drugs found in their possession.”
Peters says the K9 unit and the police’s tactical response teams are also playing a critical role.
"It is definitely our communities who stand to benefit from the successes of such operations.
"Together with the Hawks, the respective metro police departments in Gauteng, provincial traffic, and all other government departments, community patrollers, and the public, we can break the back of the criminal world and bring down the volumes of crime.”
