Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The mother of four year-old Bokgabo Poo has recounted the moment her instinct told her that something terrible had happened to her daughter.
A disraught Tsholofelo Poo told journalists that she knew that something was wrong when Bokgabo's friend came back with two lollipops, but without her.
According to Tsholofelo's account, Bokgabo's friend was sent to the shops by an unknown man, who is believed to be the accused.
Ntokozo Zikhali (20) made his first appearance in court on Monday.
"Who sent you to the shops?” Tsholofelo asked.
"A guy came and gave me R2 and said I must go and buy lollipops there by Thomas," said Bokgabo's friend.
"There I just knew, then I just knew, I just knew," says Tsholofelo.

Bokgabo went missing last Monday while playing with her friends at a park near her house.
Parts of her body were discovered a day later.
Her limbs were found in a woman's yard while the rest of her body was discovered in a shallow grave in an open veld.
One of the ways that the family could identify her body was with the last pink garment she was wearing on the day she went missing.
According to Premier Panyaza Lesufi the search continues for the missing parts of her body.
