The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) will be meeting this weekend to chart a way forward for the country's looming local elections.

This comes after the Constitutional Court ordered the polls to be held between 27 October and 1 November.

The IEC had approached the highest court in the land to ask for permission to postpone the elections to no later than February due to the pandemic, but this has now been denied.
