Improved performance from Joburg entities

The City of Johannesburg has received an unqualified audit opinion for the last financial year.
Its integrated annual report was released in Parktown on Thursday morning, detailing the spending of 12 entities, including City Power, Johannesburg Water and Pikitup.
Six municipal entities received clean audits, up from four the previous year.
The city spent 94 percent of its record R10.1 billion approved capital budget.
Finance MMC Geoffrey Makhubo said they can say with pride that the City has truly been turned around.
"Very few of our current critics want to be reminded of the fact that Johannesburg teetered on the brink of bankruptcy before the ANC took over the running of Johannesburg in the advent of democracy," he said.
#JhbReport Makhubo:In the year 2014/2015 the city achieved a surplus of R3.9 billion (2013/2014-R2.8billion) in line with approved budget SM
