Captain Thabiso Tolo, First Officer Tebogo Lekalakala and Flight Inspector Gugu Mnguni died in the fatal crash.
The family members have called on the state to launch a thorough investigation into the plane crash.
Spokesperson for the Ministery of Transport, Ayanda Allie-Paine, says the Minister respects the wishes of the grieving family.
"In that meeting with the bereaved yesterday, Minister Mbalula announced yesterday that he has indeed heeded their call and will establish an independent inquiry to look into the circumstances that led to that crash."
"It's also important to note that while the minister has full confidence in the independence of SACAA's accident and incident investigation division, it is important for him that the wishes of the loved ones be respected," concludes Allie-Paine.
