Ipid probing deaths of two protestors in violence-torn Tembisa

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) says it has begun its investigations into the deaths of two protestors during the violent protest in Tembisa, east of Johannesburg.
Demonstrators, angry at the recent hike in electricity tariffs, blockaded roads with rocks and burning tyres on Monday.
The community has been further enraged by the failure of Ekurhuleni Mayor Tania Campbell to show up at a community meeting on Friday.
"Our investigators have been on scene this morning to reconstruct the crime scene and interview some of the witnesses, for now, it remains allegations as we investigated. But we are concerned as IPID,” said Ipid spokesperson Lizzy Shuping.
Ekurhuleni Metro Police spokesperson Kelebogile Thepa says the two protestors were killed in separate incidents.
"We can confirm the second incident that resulted in the fatal shooting of one of the protestors, is yet to be determined by the relevant investigators. The situation is extremely volatile, what has been a protest action has now turned into a criminal element, where stores have been looted.”
People who are complaining about the Protests don't even have a clue of the kind of issues we are facing here... I mean Electricity for R500 doesn't even last 4 days you let less than 60 units.... That's how bad it is.. #Tembisa #Tembisashutdown pic.twitter.com/ItTnHe6jpp
