The Israeli fugitive wanted for murder and attempted murder in his country will on Thursday appear in a South African court.
Shay Moslie, a 33-year-old Israeli national suspected of links to the underworld in Israel was arrested in South Africa after a request by Interpol.
Israeli law enforcement authorities had asked their South African counterparts in June to extradite Moslie. He is wanted for three murder and four conspiracy to commit murder charges. It took the South African police three months to locate and arrest the fugitive.
The crimes were committed in 2012.
South African police said on Thursday that Moslie would appear for a bail hearing in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court.
“The South African Police Service’s Interpol Extradition Task Team will be vigorously opposing a bail application of an Israeli fugitive whom they (the task team) arrested earlier this month,” said Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo of the South African police.
