JMPD cop killed in Vlakfontein

A Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) officer was
shot and killed at a place of entertainment in Vlakfontein, in the south of
Johannesburg on Sunday night.

JMPD spokesperson, Wayne Minnaar, says the motive of the killing seems to be a robbery
He adds the police officer was off duty when the incident occurred.
"Money was taken at this spot of entertainment, and there was also a second person who was shot dead," says Minnaar.
He adds no arrests have been made and police investigations are continuing.
Vlakfontein residents to get their own Safety Kiosk
This comes after the body of a 41-year-old woman was found buried in a shallow grave at the shack of her 28-year-old boyfriend. He is expected to appear in the Protea Magistrate Court on Tuesday. Mazibuko visited the area on Monday afternoon, saying the rate of femicide in the province is of grave concern to the government.
