Joburg and Tshwane attacks ‘pure criminality’ - Bheki Cele
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
Police Minister Bheki Cele says the unrest in Johannesburg and Tshwane is merely an excuse for looting and other criminal activities.
Cele was speaking in the Johannesburg CBD on Monday following unrest in the area.
This comes a week after taxi violence erupted in the Tshwane CBD and Sunnyside last week following the killing of Jabu Baloyi - a local taxi driver.

Cele says the activities that have plagued Joburg and Tshwane are pure criminality.
"People looting and all that and using that as a xenophobia but for now there is nothing that has sparked any form of this conflict between the South Africans and the foreign nationals so we are doing criminality rather than xenophobia at the present moment."
