Johannesburg Emergency Services has condemned acts of violence against its members.

This comes after an EMS firefighter was hijacked on Gordon Road offramp in Roodepoort on Friday.
EMS spokesperson Xolile Khumalo said the employee was assaulted and later dropped off in Meyerton, south of Johannesburg.
"He sustained minor injuries and was hospitalised for observation and later discharged.
"EMS is pleading with the residents of Johannesburg to please alert the police if they see EMS vehicles parked at unfamiliar places.
"We condemn this act of violence and warn that perpetrators will be prosecuted," said Khumalo.
