Mayor Geoffrey Makhubo will officially launch the Pothole Patrol initiative on William Nicol Drive at 8am.

The City of Johannesburg has partnered with Discovery and Dialdirect in an initiative to fix potholes.

“The Pothole Patrol partnership aims to manage the repair of potholes throughout Johannesburg, in a unique data-driven initiative designed to make roads safer for all residents. The initiative will

be a game-changer in resolving the backlog created by the national lockdown and the scourge of

potholes on Joburg roads,” reads the statement.

“The official launch will be held on the 3rd of May 2021 at Cnr Sandton Drive and William Nicol Drive, opposite the Total Garage from 08h00 in the morning.

Motorists are advised to expect traffic disruptions with one lane on William Nicol being obstructed. Rather avoid and use alternative routes, but officers will be present to control and divert traffic,” adds Johannesburg Metro Police Department spokesperson, Xolani Fihla.
