Joburg will become truly world class: Mashaba
Updated | By Slindelo Masikane
Johannesburg Mayor Herman Mashaba says, under his administration, the City of Joburg will become truly world class.
Mashaba marked his first 100 days today - detailing the progress made by his administration.
Slindelo Masikane reports...
In his speech, Mashaba reflected on his mandate of change and his vision for the City.
"When we determine our budget for the 2017/2018 financial year, it will focus on the most deprived in our City. We will be throwing open our doors to make Johannesburg an easier and more attractive destination to do business. The City will listen to its people and will deal with them in a way that is caring," says Mashaba.
Mashaba says corruption will not be tolerated under his leadership.
"I've come to learn that the City is not what I thought it was during my election campaign. It is far, far worse than I actually ever thought," says Mashaba.
