K-word motorist granted bail by Roodepoort court

A Johannesburg motorist who hurled racial insults at another motorist following a bumper bashing has been granted bail.

Suzette Oosthuizen appeared in the Roodepoort District Court on Friday following the altercation, which went viral on social media.

The 55-year-old woman was charged with with crimen injuria, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm and malicious injury to property for hurling profanities and using the K-word during the altercation.

 

In the video, Oosthuizen is seen threatening and insulting a woman after her car crashed into the rear of the woman's vehicle.

 

Spokesperson for the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) in Gauteng Phindi Mjonondwane says the woman is set to appear in court again next month. 

 

"The matter was postponed to 17 June for further investigations."
