Koko and Molefe behind the delay of Eskom's financial results
Updated | By Jacaranda FM news
Eskom says the delay in its financial results is due to unresolved issues involving former CEOs Brian Molefe and Matshela Koko.
Eskom spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe says concerns raised by independent auditors forced them to delay the announcement.
"The matters raised related to the reinstatement of Molefe and the other was over Koko's stepdaughter over a contract that was granted to her company, Pulse International," says Phasiwe.
He says the allegations that some of the contracts were awarded improperly have been the subject of an internal probe.
"There was a board investigation and it has now been completed. The Minister of Public Enterprises Lynne Brown and the board will announce the outcome of that investigation."
Phasiwe says Molefe's case will in all probability play itself out in court.
"The irregularity on the side of Molefe could only be closed when the court proceeding had been concluded."
