Kruger National Park bridges closed due to flooding
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
The Kruger National Park has warned tourists of road closures due to localised flooding.
The flooding follows heavy rainfall in the area overnight which has left low lying bridges inaccessible.
Affected routes include the Crocodile Bridge Gate and the Malelane Gate due to the flooding of the Crocodile River and other bridges.
SANParks spokesperson Ike Phaahla says the flooding has affected the southern part of the park.
"We advise guests to not to use any gravel roads and to stay on the tar. Guests are further advised not open or travel on any roads which have been closed and not to cross any low water bridges as the dangers of being washed away are high.
"The rain forecast for today (Thursday) remains high, caution should be exercised at all times on the roads."
